These are some of the many activities that I have done with my little one! Hopefully you will find some inspiration for your family!
Edible Painting
This is for those kiddos who still put everything in their mouths! You simply make the paint using Kool-Aid and yogurt. Then take your Little One outside and watch them explore the colors and the squishy texture. (*The Kool-Aid can sting the eyes so make sure that you are standing next to your child to keep them from rubbing it on their face. I like to keep a water bottle with me so that I can quickly rinse out their eyes if needed.)
Homemade Gifts from the Kids
Finger painting on a canvas can be a very nice piece of Kid Made art to give to a loved one. Use painter's tape to create a design or write a message and when your kiddo is finished painting you simply remove the tape to reveal the design. I had my daughter do this for Father's Day and the result was great!
***If you are using multiple colors of paint have your child paint one color a day so that you end up with a colorful canvas instead of a brown blob!

I Heart MY Daddy plaque made with baby's footprints! We made this for my hubby's first ever Father's Day! I bought a wooden plaque and painted it, then I painted the bottom of my daughter's feet and pressed them onto the plaque to form the shape of a heart. Then I used letter stickers (because I have terrible handwriting ;) to put the words onto the finished piece of art!
Christmas Ornaments are very easy to make! I suggest going to the craft store right after Christmas and grabbing a bunch of them on sale to use for the next year. These ornaments were painted by my daughter and I was even able to get some decent hand prints on some of them! I tried these to the outside of our Christmas presents last year as a decoration which doubled as a gift from my Little One!
4th of July Fun
Last 4th of July we went outside and made a patriotic finger painting using blue and red paint! Then we went for a run in the sprinklers to clean off!
To make these Star Spangled Sandwiches I simply used a star shaped cookie cutter. This was a very cute and festive 4th of July lunch for my Little One!
St. Patrick's Day
I had an entire box of stale Fruit Loops in my pantry so I decided to have my Little One create a rainbow craft for St. Patrick's day! If I had an mini-marshmallows then I would have used them for the clouds! I also made the rainbow too compact to fit all of the colors, live and learn! ***Remember R.O.Y.G.B.I.V :)
Halloween
This simple craft is perfect for toddlers. Pre-cut small squares out of orange tissue paper, a brown construction paper stem, and Jack-O-Lantern eyes, nose, and mouth out of black construction paper. Then trace your child's hand on green construction paper and cut it out. Then cover a paper plate with glue and let your Little One stick the pieces to the glue!
Easter
Every Easter we decorate sugar cookie "eggs"! The best part of this tradition is eating them when we are finished :) The night before I bake the cookies and ice them with several different background colors. Then we use white icing in a squeeze bottle to put on the finishing touches! This is an Easter activity that everyone loves to do and it makes a plate of these colorful "eggs" makes a very festive decoration four our Easter Sunday dinner. Find my decorated sugar cookie recipe here!
Christmas
Before my daughter's first Christmas I made her this felt Christmas tree (of course she couldn't use it until her second Christmas ;) I was hoping that she would rather play with this tree than pull all of the ornaments off of the real Christmas tree. All of the ornaments are made out of felt so that they will stick to the tree. This is a fairly simple project because you can decide how intricate the ornaments will be. You could do something as simple as different colored circles if you want to make this quickly. If you have older kids it would be a lot of fun to have them create ornaments with you for some extra holiday bonding!
Painting with a Toilet Paper Roll Stamp
I saw this on Pinterest and thought that it would be a great activity for my daughter! She hates getting her hands dirty and at the time she couldn't hold a paintbrush all that well. This was a fantastic activity for her because it was easy to hold and she was able to use a lot of different colors without getting too messy!
Velcro Popsicle Sticks
These Popsicle sticks are very easy to create! My daughter loves to play with these at home and on the go! I even created special shape activity mats to use for this activity. Read the entire blog post about creating this homemade toy by clicking on the title above!
